Safety Grab Bars

One of the easiest ways to improve the safety of your home, and especially your bathroom is by installing or adding safety grab bars. The first, and most important place to install grab bars are in your shower or bathtub area.

There are both permanent wall grab bar options (where you may want to have a professional installer) and safety grab bars that operate with powerful suction cups which make for easier installation and removal. Another option, if you have a tub, is a clamp on tub rail. These are also not permanent and can offer needed flexibility and stability in staying safe in your home without completely retrofitting your bathroom.

The final option you may want to consider is using safety grab bars in the area around your toilet. There are standalone toilet safety rail options as well as raised toilet seats with attached handles that can make your bathroom safe, usable and efficient.

While planning on outfitting your bathroom, check out our bathroom safety supplies page that demonstrates how you can outfit your bathroom for optimal safety and comfort.  And don't forget your anti slip bath mats and bathing aids that are crucial to comfort and safety!
